Hi, I'm Hallie! I work with teens 16+, adults, couples, and families. I work with veterans and military personnel, anger management, anxiety, substance and behavioral addictions, trauma, intimacy and relationship issues, attachment issues, codependency, family of origin issues, and low self-esteem.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Emilee Aschenbrenner, LPC-S. I work with those who feel they have a hard time connecting with others (and themselves) on an emotional level and do not understand why. With compassion and empathy, I enjoy helping people challenge patterns, themes, and core beliefs that are negatively impacting their lifestyle and relationships. I understand the importance of military and aviation professionals seeking therapists familiar with the mental health barriers due to their occupations and aim to provide a space of comfort and advocacy.
I earned my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas at Dallas. I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Texas with dual minors in Criminal Justice and Addiction Studies. I have experience providing individual and group therapy services in a residential facility for those seeking treatment for substance addictions and co-occurring issues, as well as group therapy for geriatric and end-of-life experiences. I am certified in Prepare/Enrich to help pre-marital and married couples strengthen their relationships and learn skills to navigate the challenges that naturally come with having a life partner. I continue to actively attend trainings with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to further my education.
My philosophy is rooted in a holistic, relational perspective and I primarily conceptualize from an Adlerian and Existential perspective. Using these, I will help you explore important memories, your relational dynamics, and your current connection with the world, others, and yourself. I will help you identify and become aware of the meaning behind thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to facilitate growth. I use strength-based approaches that recognize the client’s ability to grow and develop problem-solving skills and insight. For couples, I am passionate about helping couples identify their negative cycles rooted in attachment wounds, and deeply held emotions and perspectives, to better understand themselves and their partners for growth and connection.
From my previous experience as the Office Manager at Luxx Therapy and a human myself, I know how difficult it can be to reach out for counseling and I aim to make the counseling experience feel comfortable and authentic. In a safe and non-judgemental environment, I will help you unpack important experiences that have led you to where you are today. My goal is to help my clients feel empowered, capable, and deserving to reach and maintain their desired goals.
