With years of experience and specialized training in play therapy, our therapists are dedicated to helping your child thrive. We create a safe, non-judgmental space where children can explore their feelings, develop coping skills, and build self-esteem. Your child’s well-being is our top priority.
Our values are what you need from a therapist to help your child. We CARE:
Play therapy uses toys, games, and creative activities to help children express their emotions and work through challenges. It’s especially effective because play is the natural language of children. The goal is to create a non-judgmental safe environment for the child to freely express their feelings. How a child plays, what they play with, and how they choose to engage with the therapist provides cues into the child’s coping mechanisms, frustration tolerance, mastery, view of self, others, and the world, and overall development. Therapists utilizing play therapy are trained in setting limits, responding to emotional dysregulation, reflecting feelings and content presented, and working with caregivers to ensure continuance of care and skills outside of session. Children are accepted as they are and encouraged to increase their accountability of their feelings and actions. The therapist and child work together to address what is presented in session.
Play therapy can help children process difficult emotions, improve behavior, and develop social skills. It’s particularly helpful for children dealing with anxiety, grief, ADHD, or family changes.
Let your child know they’ll be meeting with a therapist who has a special playroom full of toys and games. You can say, 'This is a place where kids go to play and talk about their feelings. Everyone needs help with big feelings sometimes, and this is a safe place to do that.'
