Caitlin Gallegos, LPC

Caitlin is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Texas at Arlington. She received her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. Caitlin has lived in different parts of DFW over the years and now has made the trek to the Midwest, living in Chicago, IL. She is fully licensed in the state of Texas and provides therapy virtually. Before becoming a therapist, Caitlin was a teacher from 2015 to 2020. That gave way to experience working with teens, families, and the community. She decided to pursue counseling while she continued to teach from 2018 to 2020 to work with people in a new capacity.

Caitlin first worked as a therapist at the Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas, providing therapy to kids, teens, and adults who had experienced physical and sexual abuse. She then became a therapist at Bricolage Behavioral Health, doing individual, family, and group therapy for those in IOP and PHP. Caitlin did assessments at Bricolage and also was an assessor for UHS for some time. After working in the hospital setting, she moved to individual therapy at Room for Change and then onto Elko Counseling. She used these experiences to enhance her skills in individual therapy!

Currently, Caitlin sees teens and adults. She is trained in EMDR and uses other evidence-based interventions such as CBT and person-centered therapy. Her area of focus is working with adults who have experienced childhood trauma, people who experienced recent trauma, PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, self-harm, self-esteem, and general life transitions. Caitlin works with clients of diverse backgrounds including race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and LGBTQ+.

Caitlin is compassionate, kind, and caring, and can be a little tough and direct. She believes in hope and understands clients might need someone in their corner to cheer them on. She knows clients are enough the way they are and wants to help them explore any areas they might want to work on. Caitlin wants to help clients find the right tools to make their goals a reality.

In her free time, she enjoys exploring all the food Chicago has to provide. She walks by the lake and loves to do yoga. Caitlin and her husband have two dogs and love to take their Great Dane to the dog park! Caitlin comes to Dallas often to visit her family and friends.
